Neuroimmunology of
innate behaviours

We are a team of immunologists and neuroscientists studying the intricate interplay between the immune system and the brain to regulate innate behaviour such as sleep

We use a combination of cutting-edge tools in immunology, neuroscience, and metabolic sciences to understand how various immune cells, in particular B cells, support brain homeostasis and behaviour during chronic, unresolved infections. To achieve this, we currently use African trypanosomes, the causative agents of Human African Trypanosomiasis or sleeping sickness, to understand how this parasitic infection alters circadian rhythms and sleep  architecture, two key innate behaviours.
